Introduction:
There are several things that one needs to get by in this society but some of the most necessary abilities that any human requires are the ability to think. It is this functioning power of the human brain that has led to every single development in the history of humanity and has allowed us to bypass natural barriers. Only through the effective implementation of our cognitive skills, we have created a society for ourselves that caters to our every single need and provides us with the comfort to ensure a life filled with leisure. In an attempt to move in that direction, now humanity has come up with artificial intelligence that takes some burden off our shoulders and contributes a great deal towards the advancement of the human race at large.
What is Cognitive Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence?
Thinking is a big part of who we are as human beings. We have survived for centuries on this planet with the appropriate application of our brainpower. Cognitive Intelligence is the mental ability and understanding that humans develop through their experiences, senses and thinking. By collecting information throughout our lives, we can turn that information into knowledge with this intelligence. It encompasses our ability to learn and remember our experiences which in turn helps us to formulate rational opinions and give sound judgement regarding any matter at hand.
Artificial Intelligence is the new product that the human mind has concocted. As aptly implied by its name, this form of intelligence is artificially created by humanity to shoulder its responsibility. This is an outcome of human necessity that is heavily trying to relieve some pressure by the virtue of science. Now some tasks that require an automated response are taken care of by this system of computers supporting artificial intelligence. In this increasing machine age, the relevance of these technologies has skyrocketed and they are now intertwined with every aspect of our existence.
Interrelation and Differences between the two types of Intelligence:
Both Cognitive Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence have a range of factors that determine their linkages and distinctions from one another. Cognitive Intelligence as we know is the intellect displayed by humans that is guided by experiences and senses and is free from any control. It is also sometimes called natural intelligence. However, in this regard, artificial intelligence is different as it requires human assistance to start functioning. But like human cognition, artificial intelligence is also able to learn from its past experiences to an extent which allows for a better-informed decision to be made by the program which greatly assists its users in the long run.
Conclusion:
After comparing and contrasting the two forms of intelligence, we can only be certain of one thing and that is the overall prosperity of human society. Just like the human intellect which has made it possible for us to live up until this juncture in time, artificial intelligence will further boost this progression towards an even more satisfactory lifestyle. And in the end, a society that draws benefits from both of these bits of intelligence will enjoy the fruits of its labour.
